Fox Point Harbour The settlement of Fox Point begins as soon as you leave Highway #3 at Hubbards and take Highway #329. This community is spread along the shore of St. Margaret's Bay from Hubbards to Mill Cove. There is a pretty harbour, sheltering the boats of a busy fishing community.

As you travel through Fox Point you will pass by Shatford's Lobster Pound, where you can purchase fresh lobsters (Phone: (902) 857-9562). Just over the hill from the lobster pound is Fox Point Beach, a favourite spot for local residents and visitors.


Fishing near Mill Cove Harbour Next along Highway #329 is Mill Cove, another fishing community. Look for the gravel shore road on your left, and take the scenic route by the ocean, past all the fish stores and down to the harbour, where people fish from the public wharf for mackerel and pollock.

In Birchy Head you will find the Just in Thyme Bed and Breakfast (902) 857-3298, and The Ice House Cottage. The latter is a nicely converted ice house formerly used by local fishermen, now rented as a cottage. Follow Highway #329 through Birchy Head to The Lodge, where Freewheeling Adventures is located. The next community is North West Cove.
