Program Development Committee

• Develop and arrange interesting programs and initiatives at Society meetings using feedback from Society members
• Develop a series of community programs to stimulate interest in local heritage
• Provide forum for the exchange and discussion of new ideas
• Develop interesting programs and initiatives using feedback from Society members
• Provide a Calendar of Events
• Develop list of projects to be undertaken by the Society
• Arrange interesting and informative presentations at Society meetings

Research Program Committee

• Identification and collection of artifacts and literature associated with Blandford and area
• Develop an Audio Library
• Encourage members, individuals from the community and interested groups to conduct
  research into local heritage
• Work to establish a library and research centre dedicated to local heritage
• Encourage genealogical research

Museum Committee

• To locate and recommend to the Society's Board of Directors a suitable location for a
  permanent museum.  The Board of Directors shall be responsible for making the final
  decision and negotiating for the purchase of site.
• To collect artifacts for display.
• To inform and educate ourselves and members on Museum Science.
• To develop a centre and manage the collection, preservation of our communityís cultural,
  social and economic heritage through:
• Space for the display and storage of document, photographs,
• Maps and artifacts, etc.
• Shelving for the display of books, etc.
• Display cases or cabinets for the display of artifacts, etc.

Community Relations & Membership Committee

• To develop and implement a public awareness campaign to educate the community
  about the Society's goals, projects and activities;
• Ongoing development of a brochure highlighting the Society's vision and objectives;
• Promote upcoming events, activities and programs;
• Presentations at community events

• Suggest cost of membership:
•     Students and Seniors
•     Adults
•     Families
•     Groups and Organizations
• Personal invitations, reminders and telephone calls
• Campaign to expand membership.

Finance Committee

• To work in conjunction with the Officers and Board Members to develop long and short term budgets
• To work in conjunction with the Officers and Board Members to develop long and short term funding requirements
• To research available funding resources and applications for funding from those resources
• To coordinate miscellaneous fund raising projects
• To work in cooperation with all committees to determine funding needs
