The Historical Society holds an Exhibit every summer in the Lodge Room at the Blandford Community Centre. The Society meets once per month in the multi-purpose room at the Blandford Community Centre.
For inmformation on the summer Exhibit, or the monthly meetings, call D'Arcy Enright at (902) 228-2693.
Copies of the brochure "Historic Tour of Blandford & Area" can be obtained from any Nova Scotia tourist centre, or from local stores such as "The Deck". The brochure provides information on the many historic points of interest in the area.
The Historical Society is now selling the book "The Rooster Crows at Dawn, My eighty years in the Nova Scotia Village of Blandford", by the late Lee Zinck. The Reverend M. Allen Gibson reviewed the book and said, "Mr. Zinck's writing reflects the very basics of human experience. This is Blandford's story but there is a sense in which it belongs to all Nova Scotians."
Second Printing - $15.00. Available in Blandford at: The Deck, The Blandford Inn, and in Chester at Cap'n Evans Gift Shop.
How It All Began
Beginning in January 1999, a number of meetings were held which culminated in
the formation and incorporation of The Blandford & Area Historical
Society. The Society is now a registered charitable organization.

About Us
A great deal has happened since the Society came into being, and the membership
is encouraged by the degree of support and interest shown in the Society's
activites. We meet every month in Blandford, and at the meetings have a
presentation on specific topics such as genealogy, the music and folklore of
our ancestors and use of the internet for research.
